The Nerdy Queer is an online & in-person merch store that sells Enamel Pins and Handmade candles that combine pride with people’s favourite nerdy fandoms.
They need a logo that combines nerdiness, pride and the playful nature of the shop, without looking too busy, too cliparty or too cliche.
Simple, elegant & fun!
Their old logo was too overcomplicated and didn’t scale well, so we wanted to keep the original feel while modernising and streamlining. I worked with them to create a brand identity that showcases lighthearted fun, while also making sure the project is taken seriously by perspective clients. The solution was to simplify and caricature! The rainbow glasses were a lovely idea, so we made them a little more cartoony and implemented a Q into the lens of the glasses, making them more iconic and memorable.
